2022 High Velocity Beach Club

High Velocity Beach Master Coaches

An overview of Coach Tom & Angie's philosophy on playing time:

Playing time is never guaranteed. If an athlete works hard, is focused and is driven to perfect what we have taught them, and is willing to build off it, we feel this is an intricate part of being successful as an individual and as a team. Playing time is earned in practice and during competition, so being fully committed and dedicated to attend all practices, being respectful, willingness to listen and learn new aspects of the game, possess the willingness to "struggle" in practice to perfect what is being coached, open to embrace constructive criticism/coaching, not taking it personally, willingness to correct aspects of the game immediately during competition in order to become successful the next play, possesses an "all-in" attitude to better their team, is an outward leader on/off the court, holds themselves and their teammates accountable, possesses mental toughness, has a winning attitude/desire to win until the last point and is not afraid to celebrate their accomplishments, will not only lead to individual and team success, but above all = playing time! We really stress to our athletes the importance of believing in themselves which sparks a winning attitude and captivates the drive to dig deep when they are down---coming up on top! Our caching motto is: "What you put into it, is what you will get out of it!" We also really emphasize team building not only amongst the athletes but also incorporate the parents. Leadership and life skills are focused on helping to develop character in these young athletes. Over the years, our philosophy as equated to many wins in competition, the development of awesome leaders on/off the court and well-rounded dynamic athletes and young women!

Tom Eske, Impact Plus Certified

Club Director of High Velocity Beach Club

Setting/hitting/Defense Master Coach

Tournament Program Coordinator

Tom has over 30 years of playing experience in all mediums of the game---indoors, sand & grass!  He also has over 19 years of coaching experience from Grade School through High School, plus 13 years club level coaching experience & over 9 years of coaching athletes privately both indoor/sand doubles and 9 years as the Director of High Velocity Beach Club.  As much as he loves playing the game of volleyball he enjoys coaching more.  He loves teaching the kids all that he has learned over the years and passing the knowledge on to them.

As a player, he had much success and a winning playing career.  He is a perfect example of an athlete that had the definite drive and willingness to go that extra mile to ensure he was a team player & individually would train 10-14 hours in the sand to perfect his skills!!  As an adult, he played all mediums of game---he traveled with an USAV traveling team & had many successful tournament standings!!

He started his coaching career at Brookfield Central coaching the Junior Varsity boys' team.  He spent 2 years there and had a winning record over those 2 years.

When his children were old enough to start playing the game in school---that is when he stepped into coach their teams.  He spent 5 years coaching grades 4, 5, 6 and 8 teaching the kids the fundamentals of the game.  The teams always had successful seasons with a lot of growth as the seasons progressed.

He started coaching club ball as a G11's coach.  It was a great experience and that is what really drove his love for coaching. He took 12 girls that had never played club before and had a successful season with many wins and high finishes!

In 2011-2012, he coached a GU 13-1's club team and that was one of his most successful seasons as a coach.  The team took 1 first place, and 3-second place finishes. They finished in the gold division of their tournaments in 7 of the 8 tournaments they played in. This team also had a 2nd place finish at Badger Region State Championships for 2012!!

In 2012-2013, he coached HV's 13 Pink team.  The team is currently ranked 5th in State in Open Division in Badger Championships earning a bid to Nationals in Dallas, Texas!!  He led them through 2 2nd place GOLD 13's Division finishes in the Penguin Ice Open and Whitewater Open and 2 3rd place GOLD 14's Division finishes in the Asics Mikasa Tourney and Rockford Challenge.  The team went undefeated in pool play in the Penguins Invite 14's finishing 5th in GOLD. They finished 8th in GOLD 13's Divison out of 20 teams in the WI Juniors President's Day.

Tom loves coaching athletes privately and in small groups! He has been coaching athletes privately for several years. In the gym 1:1 with the athletes, of all ages, is where you achieve great things...having the opportunity to devote his personal attention on one athlete at a time has proven to be extremely successful when they are put back on the court in a team setting!

He also has 13 years of coaching athletes in the sand---sand doubles!  Training in the sand he believes is a key to success in improving an athlete's indoor volleyball career.  In 2012, his 11/12's and 13's doubles team was extremely successful.  His 11/12's team took 1st place in a 13's doubles tournament in IL. His 13's team took 10th nationally in the National tournament in Milwaukee, WI.  His 13's quads grass team took 5th in the 16's Junior Boatride Tournament in Oshkosh, WI!! In 2014, his 14's team took home many 1st, 2nd & 3rd place wins throughout the season including 3rd place in an 18's tournament. His 16's team also had multiple 1st, 2nd & 3rd place wins including Tournament CHAMPIONS at the ROX VB Series in Montrose Beach, IL!

In 2014, being an extremely successful private beach coach with his athletes having many successes, over the years, Tom decided to create a Competitive Beach Club as part of High Velocity, giving athletes to learn the game of sand and allowing them to compete in a different medium. As the Director and coach of High Velocity Beach Club, he is excited to be the only competitive beach club in the state of WI that competes in WI, IL, FL and other competitions throughout the United States. The first year, we had a small group of athletes that were extremely successful! In the summer of 2015, the second year of the club, the club grew to 26 athletes from 9-18's! He was WOWED by the club's overall record of 144-80 which includes, 6-1st place Champions, 6-2nd place Gold, 4-5th place Gold & 3-7th place Gold finishes and the club earned 8 National Bids: 6 ROX National Championship bids to Florida & 2 EVP National Championship to Chicago Pro Am! And even more impressive...High Velocity athletes are getting noticed by college coaches!

In 2016, High Velocity had the FIRST athlete from the state of WI recruited and committed to play D1 beach volleyball---currently playing at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC! He is proud to say that he, as her coach, was a big part of her success!

His success continued, in 2017, as High Velocity Beach Club, continued to soar and gain lots of National attention by college coaches!! He once made a huge positive impact on many athletes with an overall record of 144-94, bringing home 11-1st, 7-2nd, 2-3rd, 1-4th and 6-5th, earning 6 bids to USAV Beach Nationals, 6 bids to AAU Beach Nationals in CA, 4 bids to Windy City Championship in Chicago & 8 bids to ROX Nationals in GA!! His top 16's Competitive National Beach Team currently is ranked 9th Nationally!! Several high school beach athletes are currently being recruited to play beach in college!!

He is looking forward to the 2021 Indoor and Beach Club season, to be able to see it grow even more & be able to make an impact on even more athletes!!

In 2012 Tom along with his wife Angie decided to start High Velocity Volleyball Club of WI to offer the junior girls in the area another elite option for club volleyball and take the girls to the next level in the game!!!

He has such a passion and drive to coach that the impact he has on these young athletes is priceless!  He brings great intensity to the court in training and competition to ensure that ALL athletes succeed & BELIEVE in themselves!  His coaching motto is: Leave it ALL on the court = NO REGRETS!!

Tom is ready to give these athletes a part of High Velocity Beach Club of WI their ULTIMATE club experience---GO HV!
